Halloumi, carrot, cumin, fritters.
These halloumi fritters are not your grandmother’s cheeseball folk! I love these little things, they are absolutely perfect heavy hors d’oeuvre for any event. The halloumi cheese gives an amazing texture and structure. The spices pop through, which makes this bite really fun!
Beyond being tasty, they are very easy to make. Pop all ingredients into one bowl, mix, form into tiny balls, and then fry till golden in a pan. I am 100% going to be serving these at my next dinner party they are lovely, and I really hope you enjoy them too!
Let’s Breakdown the Ingredients!
This recipe is really easy, and you won’t regret it. Grab all your ingredients and mix them all together, and you’re halfway done!
Graded halloumi cheese is the main ingredient of this recipe. This cheese holds notes of mellow, mildly-feta, notably tangy flavour that is not too strong that pairs well with the spices and herbs in the dish.
Filled with spices and herbs such as cumin, smoked paprika, and dill. Cumin is one of my favourite spices to use; it adds a depth of flavour that ranges from rich and hearty, earthy and warm, and a bite of citrus. Smoked paprika adds a smokey, mildly hot flavour. And the dill adds a slightly grassy undertone and citrus-like taste to the recipe.
The rice flour and eggs help combine all of the ingredients together. The rice flour makes the cheeseballs have a light and crispy texture after being fried. The egg makes moulding the structure of the dish easy and adds protein to the dish.
With strong flavours coming from the halloumi cheese and spices in this recipe, the carrot adds some nutrients and natural sweetness to this dish.
These halloumi fritters make every bite fun. Packed with tons of flavour, it will be a real crowd pleaser!
