Classic Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients:  

  • 1 lbs Flank or rib steak Sliced thin
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 Medium Head of broccoli Cut into florets
  • 1 Large White onion Sliced thin
  • 2 tbs Oil Canola or olive

For the sauce

  • 1/2 cup Low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup Beef broth
  • 1 tbs Ginger Minced
  • 4 large Garlic cloves Minced
  • 1 1/2 tbs Corn starch Or other starch
  • 2 tsp Roasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbs Honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper

Instructions: 

  • Into a bowl add soy sauce, beef broth, ginger, garlic, corn starch, sesame oil, maple syrup, and pepper. Whisk and set aside.
  • Into a hot oiled pan add in the broccoli and onions and saute for 3-5 minutes. Push to the side and add in seasoned and sliced beef. Cook for 2 minutes and then mix together and pour in sauce.
  • Cook until sauce thickens, about 2 mins.
  • Serve with sticky or jasmine rice, green onions, and sesame seeds.
