Bang Bang Chicken Skewers
These sweet, spicy, juicy Bang Bang Chicken Skewers have become one of my favourite BBQ recipes! Juicy, spiced chicken skewers, slathered with a rich and flavor packed sauce, and grilled until caramelized and slightly charred. Perfect for a weeknight dinner, or for a backyard bbq feast for friends and family. I dare say this is a must make folks!

What is Bang Bang Chicken
The name bang bang chicken is derived from the Chinese word for stick, bàng, referring to the baton or cudgel traditionally used to tenderize the meat. This version of the dish is definitely westernized using ingredients that are in your pantry or easy to find at most grocery stores. These spicy chicken skewers are really amazing! They are sweet, creamy and spiced. Depending on your spice tolerance you can easily amp up the heat to your preference!

How to make Bang Bang Chicken Skewers
This is a simple recipe that most home cooks will feel comfortable tackling. First step is seasoning the sliced chicken thighs with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and maple syrup. From there we mix together the bang bang sauce which is mayo, lime juice, sriracha, and sweet Thai chilli sauce. Brush the chicken skewers with the bang bang sauce and toss them on the grill! Thats is! Maybe save some of the bang bang sauce to add on after the chicken is cooked.

What to serve with bang bang chicken
I would suggest serving bang bang chicken with jasmine rice as a base. Since we are grilling the chicken you could also toss some seasonal veggies onto the grill to round out the meal. If you wanted to serve a side salad I would suggest making my orange sesame cabbage salad. Now that is a menu!

Made this with chicken breast. I only marinated it 30 minutes and it was super moist and delicious! Will make again as the family loved it!
