Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough

Hi! I’m Andy

Welcome to my kitchen.
I hope to inspire you to grow as a home cook!

Call me crazy, but this Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough is going to be the snack of the year, mark my words! The chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla and almond powder completely change the flavour of the cottage cheese into something so fun and absolutely packed with protein.

How much Protein is in Cottage Cheese?

Cottage cheese has a strange amount of protein in it. This recipe itself has 60g of protein per cup!

Cottage cheese is a very young version of other well known cheese like mozzarella or ricotta.

In 1 cup of cottage cheese, there is up to 25g of protein! Making it one of the sneakiest must have ingredients if you’re looking to up your protein game

What else can I put Cottage Cheese in?

I love using cottage cheese in recipes for a few reasons.

  1. Like we said above, it’s protein packed.
  1. There are tons of low fat versions.
  1. Most importantly, It had almost zero flavour. It kind of just tastes like soft milk. But that means you can add anything to it and it’ll absorb that flavour like a sponge. It’s the blank canvas of soft cheeses!

We have a few other recipes that you can try out if you’re looking for new ways to use cottage cheese!

Here’s something a little spicy and sweet!

This is one of those recipes where you can take it in any direction you want. If you can think of your favourite cookie, those ingredients will work.

You could even crush up some of your favourite name brand cookies and add it in!

What is the best protein powder for baking?

This is completely up to you.

For me, I’ve tried hundreds of brands and types. No two are really the same.

When it comes to making sure your baking tastes great, you’re going to want to go with a brand and flavour that works with what you’re making.

If you’re trying to make something that emulates a sweet, raw cookie dough, you might want to go with a brand that makes a lighter, sweeter and maybe vanilla flavoured powder.

For this recipe, I used this brand of vanilla protein powder.
