Candied Sweet Potatoes

Hi! I’m Andy

Welcome to my kitchen.
I hope to inspire you to grow as a home cook!

This sweet, buttery, sweet potato side dish is very simple to make and will become a holiday staple. They are soft, buttery, slightly caramelized, and just so incredibly perfect with a holiday dinner. These have become a family favourite in our house, and I really hope your family loves them too!

Let’s Breakdown The Ingredients!

This is a recipe in that you don’t need a lot of ingredients to make a delicious dish! With as little as 6 ingredients, you can make this sweet and buttery side dish.

The main star of this recipe is sweet potatoes. They have a mild, scratchy, sweet flavour and a crispy and caramelized exterior when cooked.

I seasoned this sweet potato side dish with brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and salt.

The brown sugar has a delicious caramel and toffee-like flavour. And when cooked with it, it gives the sweet potatoes a beautiful caramelization. The butter in this recipe adds a wonderfully soft, rich, and creamy flavour.

The cinnamon balances the sweet flavours with a powerful, woodsy, slightly citrusy taste. And like every great recipe, I seasoned it with salt to enhance all the flavours in the dish.
