DIY Shamrock Shake

Hi! I’m Andy

Welcome to my kitchen.
I hope to inspire you to grow as a home cook!

It’s that time of year again, the Shamrock Shake is back, and this DIY version is hitting the spot. It might sound weird putting spinach in a minty-sweet milk shake, but hey – it’s better than whatever they put in theirs!

 DIY Shamrock Shake

DIY Shamrock Shake – Ingredients break down.

This simple shake has a few special ingredients, so let’s break them down.

Milk – I used regular whole milk, but you can use any nut or soy milk you like!

Greek yogurt- I like to add a touch just to add a bit of tang and extra body.

Mint extract – Fresh mint isn’t strong enough to get it as minty, but you can add it in or leave it!

Mint leaves – Just adds a bit of extra freshness the extract does not have.

Banana- This is also going to help give the shake extra body. If you didn’t have it, it would be pretty watery.

 DIY Shamrock Shake

DIY Shamrock Shake – Keep it frosty.

This recipe is really really simple. There isn’t much to say other than to make sure your spinach is washed and you don’t leave your blender running for too long.

As a blender runs, the motor will heat up, warming whatever is being blended. We want everything to stay nice and cold, otherwise you’ll get less of a shake and more of a minty spinach water!
