Maintaining a healthy gut is so important for over all health and wellbeing. More and more research is emerging that shows the connection between healthy gut microbiome and a persons health and wellness. This Gut Healthy Salad has an amazing mixture of ingredients that support a healthy gut and it also tastes incredible! With ingredients like sauerkraut, blueberries, pumpkin seeds, and beets, this salad isn’t just good for your belly, it will leave you super satisfied!

Are salad good for a healthy gut?

Fuelling your body with properly made salads is a great way to boost digestion, feed your gut microbiome, and provide your body the nutrients and minerals it needs to function at its highest level. This salad is loaded with fibre, probiotics, and loads of vitamins and minerals your body is craving. This is the kind of salad I make whenever I am feeling a little sluggish and looking for some clean burning energy.

Gut Health Salad

Ingredients:  

  • 5 cups arugula
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup sauerkraut
  • 1 beet, cooked and diced
  • 1 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/2 cup goat cheese
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp pepper

Instructions: 

  • In a large bowl mix together all of the ingredients and serve!

  • Ferments such as saurkraut, kimchee, pickles
  • Zero sugar Yogurts
  • Berries
  • Root vegetables
  • Olive oil

  • Arugula
  • Beets
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • blueberries
  • lemon
  • avocado
  • goats cheese
  • olive oil

How to make a Gut Healthy Salad

n a bowl add in arugula, sauerkraut, blueberries, beets, goats cheese, pumpkin seeds, avocado, olive oil, and lemon juice. Toss together and that is it! I like to add a 1 tbs of maple syrup just for a bit of sweetness but that is up to you!

It was a very yummy salad! The initial salad ingredient list should have blueberries on it, according to the pic and the subsequent text.
