Welcome to my kitchen. I hope to inspire you to grow as a home cook!

Alright folks, if you’re anything like me, you’re still loving a good iced latte even when the leaves start turning. This iced vanilla latte recipe with salted honey is the kind of drink that brings the cozy fall flavour, without asking you to give up cold drinks just yet.

It’s cool and refreshing but still gives you that warm, spiced vibe thanks to the cinnamon, vanilla, and a sneaky little pinch of salt. And best of all? You don’t need to be a professional barista or own a fancy espresso machine to make this happen. Just a couple of jars, a bit of espresso, and a few minutes of shaking and frothing—this is fall coffee, made easy.

Why This Iced Vanilla Latte Recipe Is a Keeper

There are a million iced latte recipes out there, but this one brings major flavor to the table. It’s that salted honey twist that really takes it to the next level. You get sweetness from the honey, depth from the vanilla paste, and just the tiniest salty note that brings out all the best parts of the coffee. Plus, you’re using ingredients you probably already have in the pantry.

It’s not fussy. And it’s not overly sweet. It’s balanced, creamy, and just fancy enough to feel like a treat without stepping too far from your everyday routine.

Whether you’re looking to ditch the store-bought drinks or just want something fresh and homemade to sip on, this iced vanilla latte is exactly the kind of recipe you’ll come back to again and again.

Iced Vanilla Latte: Let’s Talk Ingredients

Here’s what’s going into this vanilla latte, and why each one is doing some heavy lifting in the flavour department:

  • Double shot of espresso – You want that strong, bold base to hold up against the honey and milk. No espresso machine? You can swap in strong coffee or cold brew coffee and it still tastes awesome.
  • Honey – A natural sweetener with a deeper, more complex flavour than simple syrup. When paired with a pinch of salt, it adds dimension and that little something extra.
  • Vanilla paste – It’s thick, rich, and full of flavour. If you don’t have it, a bit of homemade vanilla syrup or even extract will do in a pinch.
  • Salt – Just a pinch. It doesn’t make the drink salty—it enhances everything else, especially the sweetness of the honey and richness of the espresso.
  • Milk – This is where you’ve got options. I like whole milk for that classic creamiest texture, but this recipe works beautifully with oat milk, almond milk, cream or whatever you’ve got on hand.
  • Cinnamon – Adds just a whisper of spice and gives this iced vanilla latte that fall edge. It’s not overpowering—just enough to warm things up.

Tips & Tricks for the Perfect Iced Latte

1. Shake it like you mean it
After adding your espresso, honey, vanilla, and salt into a jar, shake hard for 15–20 seconds. This helps dissolve the honey and brings everything together into a smooth mixture. You could also use a hand whisk or blender, but shaking in a jar just hits different.

2. Froth your milk
Even for an iced drink, a bit of cold foam on top makes a big difference. Use a milk frother or a jar with a lid to shake your milk with a pinch of cinnamon until lightly foamy. It gives that coffee shop finish without leaving your kitchen.

3. Ice, then milk, then espresso
For the prettiest presentation and that classic coffee shop layering effect, fill your glass with ice, pour in the foamed milk, and then pour the espresso mixture on top. It settles into layers and looks—and tastes—amazing.

4. Stir before sipping
Always give your drink a good stir before that first sip to blend the espresso and milk. That way you’re not drinking straight honey-laced espresso off the top and milk from the bottom.

That cinnamon on top? It seals the deal

Make It Your Own

This iced vanilla latte recipe is super flexible. Here are a few ideas to mix it up:

  • Make it dairy-free: Go with oat milk or almond milk for a lighter feel.
  • Want it sweeter? Add an extra drizzle of honey or stir in a splash of simple syrup.
  • Need more caffeine? Triple the espresso—no judgment.
  • No vanilla paste? A dash of vanilla extract or homemade vanilla syrup works well here.

More Than Just a Summer Drink

Most people think iced coffee belongs to summer. Not here. This iced vanilla latte leans into all the best fall flavours—warm spice, rich sweetness, and comforting creaminess—just served over ice. It’s the perfect middle ground for that in-between weather when it’s cold in the morning but warm by lunch.

It also makes a great afternoon pick-me-up. Not as heavy as a pumpkin spice latte, but still giving big fall energy. Keep your jars ready and your espresso machine nearby—you’re going to want to make this on repeat.

You don’t need to be a barista, and you don’t need a ton of gear. Just a good iced latte recipe, a little shake, and a pinch of salt to bring it all together.
