Why Ginger and Turmeric?
Before we dive into the nitty-gritty, let’s discuss why this ginger and turmeric shot recipe is such a powerhouse. Ginger and turmeric are like the dynamic duo of wellness.
- Ginger: This root is packed with anti-inflammatory properties and has been a go-to remedy for centuries. Whether it’s easing nausea, reducing muscle soreness, or boosting immunity, ginger’s got your back.
- Turmeric: The perfect golden spice! Turmeric contains curcumin, a natural compound known for its strong anti-inflammatory benefits. It supports immunity, reduces inflammation, helps stabilize blood sugar and keeps blood pressure in check.
When you mix these two ingredients with fresh juices like apple, orange, and lemon, plus healthy carrots, you create a wellness shot.

Immune-Boosting Goodness
This ginger turmeric shot recipe isn’t about fancy ingredients; it’s about functionality. Every sip is like a hug for your immune system.
Fresh orange juice gives you a high dose of Vitamin C to help your body fight off colds and free radicals. A pinch of sea salt and pepper not only provide minerals, but also help boost absorption.

Once you’ve blitzed everything together, you simply strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve. Don’t skip the step of using a spatula to press out all that golden liquid—it’s where the magic happens. You end up with a smooth, vibrant mixture packed with all the immune-boosting goodness you need. Andy, I just had my husband go to the store for my Suja ginger, pineapple, lemon drink! This looks like a perfect substitution and oh so much cheaper! Thank you so very much. I appreciate it! Can’t wait to make it.
Let us know how it goes, Bon!
Hi Andy, one item you’re missing in the recipe is black pepper, needed in combination with turmeric to really get the full benefits of the curcumin, otherwise, great recipe, cheers.
Thanks for the recipe. I love these shots I buy at the health food store but they are so expensive.
Any advice on how to remove the turmeric stains after blending in my Vitamix?
You’re welcome, Gigi! A blend of warm water with a drop of dish soap usually does the trick. If there’s still some yellow left, let a paste of baking soda and water sit for 10–15 minutes, then rinse well.
Two things:
1. I am freezing the left over pulp mixture in ice cube trays to use in a tea strainer for a hot version of the shot down the road. Hoping it provides the same benefits as I can’t bring myself to throw away something that looks like it would still be so healthy!
2. The tumeric stains, so just keep that in mind when using implements.
The pulp is a great addition to muffins—really boosts the fiber content. Good point re: the turmeric! Thanks, Holly!
Just made another double batch of these!!! So delicious and healthy….now my friends are asking for a jar!!!
It’s a keeper, I agree Susan! Thanks for sharing!
