This high-protein, low-sugar baked Tiramisu Baked oatmeal is a must-save recipe. Packed with multiple forms of protein, healthy fats, and few sugars, you won’t want to start your day any other way! Finish it off with an ultra-light and creamy whipped yogurt and cream cheese topping that just seals the deal! Let’s get out of bed and start baking, we have dessert for breakfast!

What is Baked Oatmeal?

Baked oatmeal is a fun and nutritious breakfast open. Essentially we are making a bowl of oatmeal, but then baking it in the oven until it forms into a cake. The oats give the baked oatmeal an amazing texture, as well as a whack load of nutritious vitamins that help kick start your day. You can take flavouring in any direction you choose. If you are looking for another recipe other than this Tiramisu baked oatmeal to try I suggest making my baked oatmeal carrot cake. Its a winner!

What is tiramisu?

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert made of ladyfinger pastries dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and mascarpone and flavoured with cocoa. It is rich, decadent, and delicious. I have used the flavours from this classic dessert in this Tiramisu baked oatmeal recipe. The combination of strong espresso and rich creamy icing is perfect for breakfast too!

How to make baked oatmeal?

Baked oatmeal is really simple to make. Grab yourself a bowl and toss in all of the ingredients and give it a good old mix until smooth. It make look a little wet, but the oats will soak up the extra moisture while baking. One everything is mixed together we will pour the oat mixture into a 9X9 baking pan and bake in the oven that is preheated to 350F for 40-45 minutes.

You can flavour your baked oatmeal in anyway you want! Carrot cake, apple cinnamon, pumpkin pie, or even blueberry!

What kind of Protein Powder should I use when baking?

All Protein powders are different and results can vary. I personally like to use the QUATTRO brand. This is a high quality, clean powder that tastes delicious and I have found it is great to bake with. I find it to act very similar to flour when cooking. If you are not a fan of protein powder you can just swap it out with regular flour and the results will be the same!

Dairy free cream cheese icing

The topping for this tiramisu baked oatmeal isn’t just super tasty; it’s super easy to make. All you need is:

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Dairy Free Cream Cheese
  • Vanilla
  • Powdered Sugar

A great tip to get super creamy frosting every time is to let your cream cheese come to room temp before you beat it. Not only is it going to be easier on your mixer, it’s going to cut your cooking time down and give you a more airy, light, and creamy end product.
